- Future Telecommuting Mandates and Incentives
- Environment Colorado, which has lately been successful with almost every environmental initiative that they have proposed, no small part due to the very environmentally conscious Governor, Bill Ritter, has informed me that for the coming legislative session they will likely introduce a telecommuting initiative, much as was outlined in my Associated Content article. Support is possible from even some of the most conservative Republican legislators. As Colorado was the first state to institute renewable mandates, it is likely that other states will follow.
- The exact form that the mandates will take, whether tax incentives or stronger mandates will likely be the object of upcoming debate. Still it is clear that there are many excellent reasons for companies large and small to institute telecommuting programs of their own.
- These reasons range from stronger employee satisfaction, to the creation of incentives, to doing your part to make America more energy efficient and the many issues that addresses, including national security, economic growth and stability as well as the environment.
